Around mid-1930s, František found another woman and left the family. Their grandson Tomáš, Albert's son, recalled:
"They weren't divorced. But my grandfather left the family, didn't take care of the bakery, got into debt, and when he
got into debt, he slammed the door and went ten houses away to Mrs. Hruba, the innkeeper, where he stayed."
