        Teaneck -- Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Schoen of 24 West Gate Road, West Englewood, announce the engagement of the daughter, Ruth Meryl, to Harold Kotler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Kotler of 1251 Lincoln Place, Brooklyn.

        Miss Schoen was graduated from South Side High School in Newark and her fiance was graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School.  He is in the metal construction business.

        HAROLD KOTLER

        TOMS RIVER --  Harold Kotler, a retired sheet metal worker, died yesterday at Community Memorial Hospital, here.

        Mr. Kotler, 62, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Teaneck Township and Newark before moving here 10 years ago.

        He was a 21-year employed member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 28, New York. He retired two years ago.

        Mr. Kotler was a Navy veteran of World War II.

        Surviving are his wie, the former Ruth Schoen; a son, Michael, here; two brothers, Irving, Pembroke, Fla., and Stanley, Brooklyn, and four sisters, Ida Balbier, Deerfield Beach, Fla., Gertrude Kotler and Marilyn Culello, both Far Rockaway, N.Y., and Eleanor Greenberg, East Meadow, N.Y.

        The Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Dover Township, is in charge of arrangements.
